-
Nominees do not need to be AMI members.
-
Nominators do not need to be AMI members.
-
AMI both permits and encourages self-nomination. This is to ensure people from all parts of the microbiology community have a fair chance of being recognised for their achievements.
-
Only individuals can be nominated for Horizon Awards, not an organisation, group or product. Nominees however may be nominated for work associated with/on behalf of a wider group or product.
-
All nominees will be asked to submit EDI information along with their nomination in order to help us to continue to develop our awards each year and ensure they include the whole microbiology community. This will be through voluntary self-declaration of gender.
-
The following groups of individuals are not eligible to be nominated:
-
Trustees of AMI.
-
AMI staff members.
-
Members of AMI's Finance, Audit and Risk subcommittee.
-
For each Horizon Award application, we are only looking for 100-250 words per question.
At Applied Microbiology International we are keen to ensure we recognise excellence everywhere in Microbiology. Therefore, we welcome nominations that reflect the diversity of our Microbiology Community. We particularly welcome nominees from under-represented groups and from individuals with diverse or non-traditional career trajectories. To make a nomination, please use our online nomination system.
AMI reserves the right to rescind any prize if there are reasonable grounds to do so. All nominators will be asked to confirm that, to the best of their knowledge, their nominee's professional standing is such that there is no confirmed or potential impediment to them receiving this prize.
