Research & Learning
At AMI we publish three internationally acclaimed journals in partnership with Oxford University Press. The latest addition to our portfolio, Sustainable Microbiology, is free to read for all.
Our flagship journal, Journal of Applied Microbiology (JAM), and its sister journals Letters in Applied Microbiology (LAM), require a subscription to read.
- AMI members receive free access to all subscription content for JAM and LAM including the full archive from 1938 and 1985 respectively.

You can read the latest research from our journals relating to our six goals on the AMI Journals site. You can also stay up to date with AMI Journal news by completing this form to be added to our Publishing Mailing List.
There are no author fees to publish in Journal of Applied Microbiology (JAM) or Letters in Applied Microbiology (LAM). However, you can choose to pay an Open Access fee to make your work free to read permanently. Sustainable Microbiology is fully Open Access with compulsory fees to publish.
- AMI members receive a 20% discount on ALL Open Access fees in AMI Journals
