Registration Fees Grant

For members actively participating in scientific events, conferences, symposia, workshops, webinars or training courses.

This grant is designed to support AMI members in attending events critical to the advancement of sustainable applied microbiology and in alignment with AMI's strategic objectives, particularly focusing on contributing to relevant United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).

This grant aims to promote active participation in conferences, symposia, workshops, training courses and meetings that further knowledge exchange, and professional development in key areas of applied microbiology.

Candidate Requirements Candidate Requirements

Global Ambassadors are passionate advocates for applied microbiology and play an important role in representing AMI worldwide. Applicants should:

  • Be an established academic, researcher, or industry professional in microbiology or a related field

  • Demonstrate alignment with AMI’s mission and values

  • Be actively engaged within their regional scientific or professional community

  • Have the ability to connect AMI with new audiences and support membership growth

  • Be willing represent AMI professionally at events, conferences, and within regional networks

  • Be able to commit approximately five hours per month to the Global Ambassador programme

Selection is competitive and based on leadership potential, regional influence, and the ability to support AMI’s global reach.

 

What support will AMI provide? What support will AMI provide?

To help our Ambassadors in their role, AMI provides:

  • Promotional materials and merchandise to assist in membership recruitment

  • Financial support for ambassador-led events and projects (subject to approval)

  • Dedicated staff support for organising and promoting events

  • Relevance of the event to the applicant's field of study or research.
  • Potential impact on the applicant’s academic and professional development.
  • Fair distribution of funds among applicants (consideration for applicants who have not previously received an AMI grant).

Post-Event Requirements Post-Event Requirements

  • Grant recipients are required to submit a one-line quote / testimonial summarising their experience at the event along with their claim.
  • AMI claim form, all relevant receipts and certificate/proof of attendance must be submitted within six weeks of the event.

Application Process Application Process

  • Applications are reviewed on a monthly basis. Those submitted by the final day of the month will receive a decision within four weeks (for example, applications received by 31 January will be reviewed, with outcomes available from 28 February).
