"This award to the collective One Health Microbiome Center is a massive testament to Applied Microbiology International embracing the value of honouring the team over individuals and a decade plus journey by Penn State to go all in on the microbiome sciences. It is indeed time to recognise the contributions of a wider range of scientists, educators, and artists — the many that truly fuel the growth of microbiome sciences and applied microbiology. 550+ members from 42 departments and 10 colleges are recipients of the WH Pierce Prize for Global Impact in Microbiology. That is heart warming."
