AMI response to inquiry into 'no-deal' Brexit

The Society for Applied Microbiology submitted written evidence to the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee inquiry into preparations for a 'No-Deal' Brexit.

This submission was prepared as a supplementary response to that of the Royal Society of Biology.

A ‘no-deal’ EU exit will impact on many microbiology-relevant topics of concern to public and environmental health including disease outbreaks, antimicrobial resistance and biosecurity. Nevertheless, SfAM's submission focuses on issues relevant to food safety, identified at a roundtable meeting held by the Society in July 2017.
