Connecting with the Global Soil Science Community in Malaysia

In May 2025, I had the honor of attending the International Soil Science Conference held in Kepala Batas, Penang, Malaysia, as a Global Ambassador for Applied Microbiology International (AMI).

The event took place from May 6th to 8th and featured a comprehensive range of topics related to soil science, with a special focus on soil microbiota. AMI co-sponsored two prestigious awards during the conference: the Best Oral Presentation and the Best Poster Presentation, each receiving a 300 MYR prize. These awards aimed to recognize outstanding student contributions to the field. The conference brought together experts, researchers, and students from around the world to discuss the latest advancements and challenges in soil science, offering valuable insights into the role of soil microbiota in environmental and agricultural sustainability.

It was a fantastic opportunity to engage with the global scientific community and support the next generation of researchers.
