Lord Jim O'Neill

The Fellowship was in recognition of his passion for finding a solution to the global challenge of AMR and the continuing impact of the O’Neill Review.

Lord Jim O'Neill worked for Goldman Sachs from 1995-2013, spending most of his time there as Chief Economist. Later O’Neill spent time as the Commercial Secretary to the Treasury from May 2015 until September 2016. O’Neill chaired a formal Review into AMR (antimicrobial resistance) reporting its final recommendations in May 2016 and contributed to high level agreement at the UN in September.

The Fellowship was in recognition of his passion for finding a solution to the global challenge of AMR and the continuing impact of the O’Neill Review.

In December 2018, a special issue Microbiologist magazine was published detailing the progress made on O'Neill's 'Ten AMR Commandments'.
