RSB Response to Land Use Consultation

Applied Microbiology International contributed to and supported the Royal Society of Biology’s formal response to Defra’s consultation on a Land Use Framework for England.

The submission highlights the need for a joined-up, long-term vision for land use across the UK, addressing challenges such as food security, biodiversity loss, infrastructure planning, and climate resilience. Drawing on expert input, the response explores operational design, data requirements, policy levers, and the skills needed to deliver a multifunctional, sustainable approach to land use.

AMI supports the RSB’s recommendations for evidence-based, coherent land use policy that recognises the essential role of science and innovation.
