Submission to House of Lords Environment and Climate Change Committee: Methane
Applied Microbiology International submitted evidence to the UK Parliament’s Environment and Climate Change Committee inquiry on reducing methane emissions.
Our submission highlights microbiological solutions that can support UK efforts to cut methane emissions across agriculture, waste management, and the energy sector. Drawing on member insights and case studies, we explore the potential of anaerobic digestion, composting, and methane-capturing microorganisms, as well as circular solutions like bioplastics from methane.
We also recommend greater investment in biogas and microbial innovation as part of an integrated approach to climate and nature-friendly farming.
