About Sustainable Microbiology
Sustainable Microbiology is the latest addition to our journal portfolio. Now in its third Volume, It is an interdisciplinary open access journal, which demonstrates the current and future role of microbes in improving global economic, social, and environmental sustainability. It is the first AMI Journal to publish policy papers alongside research and reviews. Authors are required to demonstrate the application of microbiology in helping to achieve one or more of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Candidates
We are seeking experienced academic editors from around the globe, who have expertise within the field of microbiology and whose work contributes to one or more of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Overall purpose of the role
As an Associate Editor, you will manage all submissions in your subject area, triaging or assigning reviewers as appropriate, overseeing the peer review process while upholding the highest ethical standards and striving to give all authors the best experience in their interactions with SMI.
Key responsibilities
- Act as Associate Editor for your subject specialism (approx. 15-30 papers per year)
- Actively participate in online and face to face Editorial Board meetings
- Contribute ideas for the development of SMI, feedback on how to improve processes and author service
- Act as an ambassador for the journal within your community and networks
